 6-10 Nov – Open Water Festival (Barbados)


Every year‚ in early November‚ the magnificent Carlisle Bay in Barbados comes alive as hundreds of swimmers from all over the world take part in the Barbados Open Water Festival. The visiting swimmers rave about the ideal open water swimming conditions in Carlisle Bay‚ a protected Marine Park‚ and now the heart of a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Swim conditions and beauty of the island aside‚ there is a wonderful camaraderie among the swimmers at this event with its laidback island-life setting and the highly popular pre-event practices and social sessions leading up to the swim races. It’s this mix of fun and competition in a fabulous location that has resulted in excellent reviews and many repeat swim visitors.

9-17 Nov – APP World Championship Surfing (Barbados)

The classic Soup Bowl‚ one of the top surfing sites on the rugged East Coast‚ is home to championship surfing talent from Barbados and across the globe as participants vie for honours‚ and to conquer the pounding surf and breaks. The action is fast‚ and surfers and spectators alike flock to this remote spot to enjoy surfing at its best.


30 Nov – INDEPENDENCE DAY (Barbados)



7-8 Dec – Run Barbados: Run and Marathon Events (Barbados)


The Run Barbados 10K is one of the oldest in the Caribbean (since 1983) and a race on the 7th you don't want to miss!


Both the 5K and 10K races follow a scenic course along Bay Street featuring the beautiful Carlisle Bay and through the historic former colonial seaport of Bridgetown (UNESCO World Heritage Site). There will be Entertainment on the course‚ plentiful course support‚ water stations and aid stations.


Then on the 8th‚ is the Barbados Half- and Full Marathons. Runners will start on the Esplanade‚ Bay Street and proceed north through Bridgetown and along the scenic west coast of the island. The AIMS-IAAF certified course will loop at its usual place in St. James and proceed back to the Finish on the Esplanade which completes the Half Marathon. Marathon runners will complete TWO laps of the Half Marathon course.


13-14 Dec – Rugby Barbados World 7s (Barbados)

The Rugby Barbados World 7s is the latest edition of the longest running Club Rugby Sevens tournament in the Caribbean.

Scheduled for the weekend after the 2019 Run Barbados Marathon and 10K international race‚ you can "Come for the Run‚ Stay for the Rum‚ and Revel in the Rugby! 

The organizers have decided to expand the tournament to include U-20 Men's and Women's divisions that will feature 8 teams each‚ in addition to the 12-team Senior Men's and Women's Open divisions.
